Il existe des décors que l’on construit, et d’autres qu’il suffit simplement de laisser parler.
Pour cette série de portraits avec Elena, Rita et Rossana, nous avons choisi la nature spectaculaire du Mullerthal, au Luxembourg. Entre les rochers, la forêt et l’eau, le paysage devient bien plus qu’un simple arrière-plan : il participe pleinement à chaque photographie.
Quand le portrait rencontre la nature
Le Mullerthal offre une atmosphère presque hors du temps. La végétation dense, les formations rocheuses, les rivières et les jeux de lumière qui traversent les arbres créent naturellement une multitude d’ambiances.
L’idée de cette séance était justement de travailler avec cet environnement plutôt que de chercher à le dominer.
Elena, Rita et Rossana prennent ainsi place au milieu des hautes herbes, sur les rochers ou directement dans l’eau. Les robes claires et les matières légères contrastent avec les verts profonds de la forêt et les textures minérales du paysage.
La douceur des portraits rencontre alors quelque chose de plus brut et de sauvage.
Entre rochers et rivière
Photographier dans l’eau change immédiatement la relation du modèle avec son environnement. Les reflets, les mouvements de la rivière et la lumière qui se dépose à sa surface apportent une dimension supplémentaire à l’image.
Sur les rochers, les poses deviennent plus sculpturales. Dans l’eau, elles se font plus spontanées et organiques.
Chaque endroit permet de créer une photographie différente tout en conservant le même fil conducteur : mettre la beauté humaine en dialogue avec celle de la nature.
Trois personnalités, trois interprétations
Avec Elena, Rita et Rossana, ce même décor prend à chaque fois une autre dimension.
Un regard, une attitude, une façon différente d’occuper l’espace suffisent à transformer totalement une image. C’est aussi ce que j’aime dans le portrait : partir d’un lieu identique et laisser chaque personne lui donner sa propre histoire.
Certaines photographies sont douces et contemplatives, d’autres plus affirmées, mais toutes conservent cette connexion avec le paysage qui nous entourait.
La beauté avec la nature
Cette série est finalement une rencontre.
Celle de trois femmes, d’un paysage et de la lumière naturelle.
Pas besoin d’un décor artificiel lorsque la forêt, la roche et l’eau offrent déjà autant de matières, de couleurs et de profondeur. Le Mullerthal devient alors un véritable studio à ciel ouvert, dans lequel le portrait trouve une dimension à la fois élégante, naturelle et presque féerique.

For this portrait series with Elena, Rita and Rossana, we chose the spectacular natural surroundings of Mullerthal, in Luxembourg. Among the rocks, the forest and the water, the landscape becomes much more than a simple backdrop: it becomes an essential part of every photograph.
When portraiture meets nature
Mullerthal has an almost timeless atmosphere. Its dense vegetation, rock formations, rivers and the way light filters through the trees naturally create an incredible variety of moods.
The idea behind this shoot was to work with the environment rather than trying to overpower it.
Elena, Rita and Rossana take their place among the tall grass, on the rocks and directly in the water. Light-coloured dresses and delicate fabrics contrast beautifully with the deep greens of the forest and the mineral textures of the landscape.
The softness of the portraits meets something more raw and untamed.
Between rocks and river
Photographing in the water immediately changes the relationship between the model and her surroundings. Reflections, the movement of the river and the light shimmering across its surface add another dimension to the image.
On the rocks, the poses become more sculptural. In the water, they feel more spontaneous and organic.
Each location offers the opportunity to create a different photograph while keeping the same guiding idea: bringing human beauty into dialogue with the beauty of nature.
Three personalities, three interpretations
With Elena, Rita and Rossana, the same setting takes on a completely different character each time.
A look, an attitude or simply a different way of inhabiting the space is enough to transform an image entirely. That is also what I love about portrait photography: starting with the same location and allowing each person to give it their own story.
Some photographs are soft and contemplative, others more confident and expressive, but they all retain that connection with the landscape surrounding us.
Beauty with nature
In the end, this series is about an encounter.
An encounter between three women, a landscape and natural light.
There is no need for an artificial setting when the forest, the rocks and the water already offer so many textures, colours and layers of depth. Mullerthal becomes a true open-air studio, where portrait photography takes on an elegant, natural and almost dreamlike quality.
